October 12, 2008 Oconee River Kennel Club hosted a  Responsible Dog Ownership Day in Watkinsville, GA.  Click HERE  or on the picture below to see pictures.
 

Oconee River Kennel Club held an A-Match on April 19, 2008 at Harris Shoals Park in Watkinsville, GA. Judging began at Noon and there was a $100.00 Cash prize for Best in Match.

We would like to thank the judges,  Ms. Susan C. Catlin, Mrs. Valerie Dombrowski, Ms. Lisa Heathcox, Mr. Charles J. (Chuck) Quinlan, and Mrs. Darcy A Quinlan, as well as all the exhibitors for helping make this match a great success.

Our Fall B-Match was held on October 7, 2007 at Herman C. Michael Park in Watkinsville, GA in coordination with our Responsible Dog Ownership Day.  In addition to the B-Match activities several educational opportunities were available including a Junior Showmanship Clinic, booths offering educational material on the proper care of dogs and training tips, a "Meet the Breed" where people could see and ask questions about different breeds of dogs, Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing, information about Therapy Dogs and the opportunity to read to a Therapy Dog, and an agility course was also set up and available for demo's and visitors.

Also, a special thank you to the community of Oconee County for supporting AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day, the terrific judges, the 300 individuals that attended the event and B-Match and the outstanding ORKC volunteers for helping to make this Event a great success.

Melvin Davis, Chairman of the Oconee County Board of Commissioners, presented the Oconee River Kennel Club a plaque proclaiming October 7, 2007 AKC Responsible Dog Ownership day in Oconee County.  Robert Schwalbe, President of the Oconee River Kennel Club, accepted the plaque on behalf of the club.
